Get your windows looking professionally cleaned
Category: Window Cleaning
Well wonder no more. The key to streak free windows is all in the tools that you use. The experts don't just use strip applicators and squeegees for ease of use. They are also much more effective than the cloths, spray cleaners and paper towels that many of us try at home.
Consider the technique too. If you watch a professional window cleaner, you might be shocked at how little effort is put in, when you're furiously scrubbing away to no avail. By just rubbing at the windows you're just moving the dirt around, rather than removing it from the surface. Also, it creates a static charge on the glass, which just attracts even more dust and dirt.
Instead of a spray cleaner, you should fill a bucket with warm water and a squirt of liquid soap. We don't advise too much soap though. Less is more when it comes to window cleaning. Apply the soapy water using a strip applicator with a long cloth head, which will loosen the dirt but won't scratch your glass.
Next, take a squeegee and pull it over the panes to remove the soap. Work from top to bottom following an S pattern and make sure you wipe the squeegee blade clean after each stroke. Finally, use a chamois cloth to remove any excess soapy water from the corners and edges of the panes. This will allow you to soak up the moisture, but won't leave behind any streaks.
If these seems like a lot of hassle, then your better option is to hire a professional window cleaner, who can get your windows sparkling in no time.
