Homeowners celebrate National Hanging Out Day
Category: Washing and Ironing
The country recently celebrated its National Hanging Out Day, which urged domestic cleaners to reduce their carbon footprints by using clothes lines instead of tumble driers to dry clothing.
Michael Kalmanovitch, owner of Earth's General Store, recently voiced his support for the day, which he believed had a significant impact on the environment, the Edmonton Journal reports.
In addition to cutting their energy use when hanging laundry outside to dry, domestic cleaners are also limiting the amount of chemicals they use, explained the retailer.
"It's also healthier, I believe. You're not putting all those chemicals into your dryer to help reduce the static cling," Mr Kalmanovitch told the paper.
In other news, internet portal ecomii.com recently announced that perceived high prices of green goods may prevent householders from purchasing eco-friendly items.
