Does where you live affect your cleaning habits?
Category: Spring Cleaning
A nationwide survey conducted by UKDN Waterflow shows that how often we clean, and for how long, differs greatly depending on where we live.
People in Northern Ireland are most likely to spring clean every year, while those in London are the least likely to do this. 90 per cent of respondents in Northern Ireland said they spring clean every year. This was followed by north-east England (82 per cent), Wales (81 per cent), north-west England (78 per cent) and the east of England (77 per cent).
Even though these regions are the ones committed to cleaning most often, they're not necessarily spending the most amount of time cleaning.
In the north-west, more people are spending 15 or more hours spring cleaning, while those in the north-east admit to cleaning for just two hours or less. However, those in Scotland aren't far behind the north-west (19.5 per cent).
It seems that London is the region that's cleaning the least, with just 62 per cent spring cleaning every year, and 15 per cent of these admitting that they spend less than two hours doing so.
In contrast, 82 per cent of people in the north-west spring clean every year, with 20 per cent of these cleaning for 15 hours or more.
If you don't have time to spring clean your house every year, then perhaps you need to call in the experts to help you out. They can make sure that your home is kept clean, either on a one-off basis or regularly.
