Spring cleaning tips for the less motivated
Category: Spring Cleaning
Finding the motivation for spring cleaning can therefore be very difficult. Yet it doesn't have to be the gargantuan task you envisage and there are some shortcuts you can take to make things easier.
The more stuff you have around your home the more you have to dust, vacuum and polish, so either have a clear-out or put your things away in drawers or storage boxes so it is out of sight.
Not only will rooms be easier to clean if there is less clutter around - which means you'll be more motivated to actually do the housework - but they will automatically look tidier and more ordered.
Clean while you shower
Cleaning the bathroom is one of those jobs we love to hate. We want a sparkling shower, toilet and basin, yet we can't seem to find the time or the enthusiasm to get scrubbing.
So why not kill two birds with one stone and clean the shower while you're in it? Or if you're running a bath, see to the toilet and the basin while you wait for your water to run.
Steam clean your microwave
The inside of your microwave is one of those places that tends to be forgotten. Each time you open it, you remind yourself you must get around to cleaning it. And then another week goes by.
There's no need to scrub, however. Just place a bowl with a 50/50 mixture of water and vinegar inside the appliance, switch it on until the mixture steams, then wipe clean.
Hire professional cleaners
Quite possibly the best shortcut yet. If you really can't face spring cleaning, you can call in the experts and have it done in a matter of hours, leaving you free to do whatever you like.
Whether you go for a complete top to bottom clean, or just get the cleaners to do the tedious tasks while you concentrate on the easier ones, is totally up to you.
