Why it pays to clean and tidy before you go on holiday
Category: Professional Cleaning
Of course, it could be argued, what's the point in making a home spotlessly clean if you're many miles away? But then, whoever said this never had to come home to a dirty house. Indeed, coming back from a break is bad enough but having to scrub and clean away before you even have chance to unpack your souvenirs can really make the post-holiday blues unbearable.
Don't worry though, the good news is that a little pro-active cleaning goes a long way. So, consider putting these little chores on your pre-holiday checklist:
For starters, make sure the fridge is taken care of. Throw out anything that might go bad while you are away, and give the whole of the inside a proper scrub. Do the same for the rest of the kitchen, paying extra attention to dirty work surfaces. After all, if stains and spillages can get annoyingly stubborn if left overnight, how bad will they be after one or two weeks? Oh, and don’t forget to take out the rubbish! Surely nothing kills a post-holiday buzz quite like being greeted by the smell of week-old trash.
Another neat trick is to take a few minutes to freshen your bedroom up. Everyone loves the feeling of fresh sheets, especially if you've been in a car or on a plane for hours and hours, so making a little extra effort here can help you really feel happy to be home.
If, however, all this seems like too much trouble - and it certainly can be, particularly if you're packing for a whole family - consider getting the professionals in before you go away, or even book trusted and reliable cleaners to pop round while you're relaxing by the pool. Let them take care of the chores while you just concentrate on your rest and relaxation.
