Office sector is crucial, cleaning companies hear

The Property Industry Alliance (PIA) has suggested that the sector contributes more to Britain's coffers than the banking profession.
Nearly one million people are employed within the commercial property industry and buildings such as offices, workplaces, shops and leisure facilities were said to be worth £516 billion last year.
Around half a million workers are employed to build, repair and develop such sites and many cleaning companies are also contracted to tidy up major plots.
PIA chairman Sir Robert Finch said the importance of the commercial property sector should not be underestimated.
"From providing places for people to work, shop and play through to playing a major role in funding retirement, the sector is a crucial cog in the UK economy," he commented.
Cleaning companies recently heard from Savills that London-based offices remain a "unique investment" and are increasingly appealing to foreigners.
It stated that Britain has different laws relating to insurance costs for landlords and tenants, meaning that the leaseholder must foot such bills, rather than the building's owner.
