Get your home clean for festive parties
Category: Home Cleaning
But to do that, you have to make sure your house is clean, or your guests will remember the party for all the wrong reasons.
Of course, we know you'll hoover the carpets and wipe down your kitchen surfaces, but there are plenty of other parts of the house that might easily get overlooked.
And this could prove embarrassing if there's any lingering dirt in these places. So what should you make a special point of cleaning before guests arrive?
It's alarming how quickly cobwebs can build up in the corner of every room, and if you have lightly coloured walls, they could easily be spotted by visitors.
Take a close look at your lamp fixtures and what do you see? Dust and dead flies, that's what. Yes, we know it's horrible to clean, but that's all the more reason to actually do it before guests arrive on your doorstep.
When the temperatures plummet over winter, you probably won't be using them as often, so take the opportunity to dust them down while you have the chance.
Grime and dirty marks can easily form on walls, so maybe give them a quick wipe down with soapy water and a sponge before guests arrive. Be careful though, as you don't want to wipe paint off the wall or inadvertently strip your wallpaper!
Of course, all this might seem like a lot of effort and hard work if you are holding a social gathering. After all, the food won't cook itself and invites have got to be sent out.
In which case, we'd recommend you bring in a professional cleaner, as they can use specialist equipment to clean all those areas you might typically ignore or find hard to reach.
