How lemons can help keep your house clean
Category: Domestic Cleaning
Lemons, for instance, have a multitude of uses around the house, with the added advantage that it's a sustainable and chemical-free option.
For instance, have you looked at the grim mess that is the inside of your microwave? If it looks like a nasty cleaning job lies in wait for you, squeeze some lemon juice into a bowl and cook for three minutes.
Then leave it to stand for a few minutes without opening the door. You can then open the microwave and simply wipe the inside with a dry clean rag. So simple, yet so effective!
Similarly, lemons can be ideal for cleaning and deodorising the inside of smelly plastic containers. Just rub them over the inside or rinse it in lemon juice and you can wipe out plenty of stains and smells quickly and easily.
Lemon peels, meanwhile, can be repurposed as an ingredient in a natural kitchen cleaner, along with some white vinegar.
There's countless more uses too, from cleaning wooden chopping boards and removing stains from kitchen worktops to scrubbing off food that's dried and stuck on dishes or surfaces.
So why not make sure you have a bag of lemons in your grocery shop every week so you can always have an effective yet affordable cleaning aid on hand?
If this still seems like too much effort, don't rule out the option of bringing in a professional cleaning service.
They can apply their specialist knowledge, expertise and equipment to clean even the toughest and most stubborn parts of your home.
And you won't have to lift a finger at any stage, safe in the knowledge that a top-notch job is being done!
