Don't let the kids mess up the house
Category: Domestic Cleaning
They don't mean to be, but children can be particularly messy.
However, there are ways that you can keep things in order and even get the little ones involved in the task.
Cut down on toys
It speaks for itself that if you want to keep mess to a minimum, then reducing the number of toys will stop them getting strewn about quite so much.
Then, when you do get toys, ensure that your child has a storage box or cupboard they can store them in.
With several people living under one roof, it will be necessary to clean the floor on a more regular basis.
Ideally, you should aim to vacuum once or twice a day to prevent mess from building up. To do this also means floors must be kept clear, which will hopefully work towards keeping the place tidy.
Get the kids to clean up
Another way of keeping on top of the domestic cleaning is by getting the kids to clean up after playtime. If you get them into the habit of clearing away their mess after each break, then they are less likely to make as much mess.
In addition, you can make it into a game. If you can incorporate the cleaning itself into playtime, you may even find that your kids will look forward to it and are more motivated to keep the home spotless.
Cut down on crayons
Not only do crayons always seem to be strewn across the floor, but inevitably crayon marks will end up across the wall.
Of course, you don't want to get rid of them altogether, but if you make sure that they're put away except for supervised arts and crafts sessions, then the risk of the artwork ending up on your walls is eliminated.
Call in the experts
If the cleaning ever gets too much, why not call in an expert cleaner to help out?
This can save you a lot of stress and time, leaving you free to spend more quality time with your kids.
