Ideally, you'll have professional cleaners come and do it for you, so that you can return from work to a clean and tidy home without having to spend hours vacuuming, scrubbing, mopping and dusting. However, if you only indulge in this once a month, or even less frequently, then you need to find a way to make it seem like less of a chore in between.
Get the music going
One of the most popular ways to distract yourself from the chore of cleaning is to get some of your favourite tunes blaring. This isn't the time for a slow song, but something you can sing and dance to.
Time will go much quicker if you grab a mop and dance your way around the kitchen - be careful though as you don't want to slip!
Create a distraction
Unfortunately, something like vacuuming doesn't really allow you to multitask, but if you have a pile of ironing that needs to be done, this is the perfect time to catch up on your favourite television show, or check out that movie you've been dying to see.
Consider it a workout
If you like to stay fit but don't have as much time to head to the gym as you'd like, you'll be pleased to hear that you can burn quite a few calories when cleaning your home. In fact, a study by PromotionalCodes.org.uk found that vacuuming for one hour burns as much as 238 calories.
Okay, so this doesn't make cleaning any more fun, but it is a benefit that can inspire you to get it done.
If you're still not convinced though, then it's probably time to get a professional cleaner in more regularly, so you can sit back and relax knowing your home is being kept clean.
