Carpet cleaning 'can be a challenge'
Category: Carpet Rug Cleaning
That is according to an article by UK Flooring Direct posted on aboutpropoerty.co.uk, which provides a number of carpet cleaning tips.
"Carpets always look beautiful when they are bought and should look great when they are installed as well. But keeping them in good shape thereafter can be a challenge ... But keeping a carpet in good shape is far from impossible," says the news provider.
Regular vacuuming is one of the most important aspects of carpet cleaning, it claims, keeping it dust-free and ensuring it will not be a home for dust mites, which can be an issue for sufferers of respiratory conditions such as asthma.
However, vacuums with rotating brushes should not be used on Berber carpets, the article recommends, as it may damage the loops.
Meanwhile, the key to dealing with spills and stains is to treat them while they are still wet.
It is advised cleaners use cold or lukewarm water and that stains are dabbed not rubbed.
"For some stains, a stronger solution like peroxide or vinegar will be required," says the news provider.
This concurs with recent advice offered on living.oneindia.in, which recommended using hydrogen peroxide-based rather than bleach-based products for stains on light-coloured carpets.
