Carpet cleaning London: Carpet cleaning tips revealed
Category: Carpet Rug Cleaning
News provider living.oneindia.in has released wide-ranging advice on carpet cleaning, such as how to tackle ink and grease stains.
It recommends using rubbing alcohol for ink stains, advising carpet cleaners to add a few drops of alcohol on a clean light coloured cloth and dab the stain carefully, repeating until transfer of colour can be seen on the cloth.
Grease stains, meanwhile, can be tackled with paint thinner.
"Rub the thinner with a clean cloth, add salt on the stain until it absorbs the grease, and then vacuum the salt particles," says the website.
Other advice offered includes never rubbing spilled drink on carpets. Instead, use an absorbent cloth or tissues to quickly absorb the stains.
The article adds: "For stains on light-coloured carpets use hydrogen peroxide based cleansers than bleach-based."
It may also be a good idea to clean vacuum cleaners after using them on carpets.
According to the Daily Mail, researchers at the University of Arizona recently found that 50 per cent of the ¬vacuum brushes tested contained faecal bacteria, 13 per cent with the potentially fatal bug E.coli.
