Tackling a tea stain
Category: Carpet Cleaning
With so much tea being drunk, it's natural that some of it gets spilt. This can be a pain to clean, especially if it gets into your carpet.
So, how can you go about tackling a tea stain? Read on to find out.
The best way to clean a tea stain is to act quickly - allow the stain to soak in and things will get more difficult. Try to blot the spillage with a tea towel or cloth straight after it occurs, thus soaking up the moisture. If you have one, apply a carpet stain remover immediately and that should take care of the problem.
What if you don't have stain remover or the stain has been allowed to soak in? There are a few other options. White vinegar can be an incredibly useful cleaning tool and is ideal for taking care of a tea stain. Mix just a small amount of vinegar with water and apply it to the stain using a cloth or sponge. Give the carpet a scrub and the stain should soon disappear.
Another option you can employ is baking soda. Coat a damp cloth with baking soda and apply it to the stain directly. Follow this by rinsing with water and, soon enough, you should notice the stain beginning to fade. You may need to repeat the process a few times, but it normally does the trick.
Would you rather leave the cleaning to someone else? Our professional carpet cleaners are on hand to help. All you'll need to do is make a brew and relax - just be careful not to spill any!
