There are a lot of things to consider when it comes to renting a flat or house. Before you sign a tenancy agreement it is important to inspect everything on the inventory list and make notes of anything that is not up to scratch. For instance, most landlords or letting agencies expect their former tenants to have the place cleaned, which is why Professional Cleaning teams are often hired. If you notice areas that have not been cleaned properly or have been completely overlooked, you should let the landlord know about it as soon as possible.
Mould on bathroom walls is probably one of the hardest things to get rid of if neglected. As a new tenant it’s not particularly fair if you are left to tackle it on your own because the couple living in the flat before you failed to take care of it or hadn’t bothered to book Professional Cleaning.
If you’re stuck with a mould problem in your bathroom then here are some excellent cleaning tips for you to follow that does not require the purchase of expensive products or paying for Professional Cleaning.
All you will need to take care of the mould on your bathroom wall is:
- 1 empty spray bottle
- Vinegar
- 1 hard bristle brush
- Hot water
Simply fill the empty spray bottle with full strength vinegar and douse the problem areas. It’s important that you keep the bathroom well ventilated by either opening a window or turning the fan on as the vinegar smell could be overwhelming.
Once you’re happy that all the mould spores are soaked, leave the vinegar on the walls for at least 45 minutes.
Scrub the entire wall with a hard bristle brush. You may notice that the mould comes off much easier now that the vinegar has worked against it.
If you have a detachable showerhead, rinse the walls with hot water and dry thoroughly with a towel. Alternatively, fill a bucket with hot water and splash the walls.
