There are many characters you see on TV and just fall in love with them. They inspire you to do great things, or just everyday little stuff that makes your life easier. For us, one character that greatly fits this description is Monica from ‘Friends’.
She is such a charismatic woman, highly energetic, witty and fun. But perhaps the one thing she is most famous for is her meticulous attitude towards cleaning. We cannot lie – this unique feature of hers is the main reason why we love her so much!
To us, Monica has a wonderful way of handling cleaning, despite the fact it may seem a little over the top at times. She is a person that has a special way of handling things, which proves to be highly effective. She serves as inspiration to all housekeepers and presents a few brilliant ways of cleaning and dealing with clutter.
Below we have picked what we believe to be some of her most inspiring ideas:
Her oven cleaning:
Okay, this is something that is not exactly in the show, but we believe it goes without saying. Since Monica is such an extraordinary cook (she has quite a few talents, doesn’t she?), she must be cleaning the oven often and well enough. We strongly believe that her oven cleaning skills match her cooking enthusiasm and expertise. In that sense, oven cleaning is something we can definitely imagine she often deals with. Not only that, but she is a master of it, too. Perhaps she likes to use the very popular method of cleaning with a baking soda paste, or maybe she makes her own specialised oven cleaner. Which brings us to the next point on this list…
Her homemade cleaning solutions:
Apart from cleaning skills, Monica has a good idea on how to actually make her own cleaners. We saw her using her very own special tile cleaner and insisting on a housekeeper doing the same, instead of a commercial product. We can only admire such skills, though we are sure some might try to replicate her prowess. There are numerous cleaning formulas out there that give perfect results. The one with baking soda and water to clean the oven is our personal favourite!
Her cleaning of the vacuum cleaner:
It is very likely that many viewers have attributed this to her sometimes irrational behaviour. However, as professionals, we can see right through the cleaning genius that such an activity reveals. Cleaning the vacuum cleaner every once in a while is necessary in order to keep the device dust-free. How else can you expect it to clean your room properly? Take Monica as a role model in that regard and perform such a cleaning service on your vacuum cleaner. We would add that brooms and mops should also be cleaned regularly.
Her organisational skills:
Monica is on a whole new level when it comes to organisation and decluttering. We believe everyone can learn a thing or two about her meticulous attitude towards stuff. Everything has a place and everything has a purpose. Whatever doesn’t fit, simply gets removed. That means no clutter lying around to get in the way of everyday activities. Way to go, girl!
Her fear of spills and stains:
When it comes to stains, we don’t blame Monica for being extra vigilant. Stains are a pain to deal with, especially if you don’t act quickly. We know well enough that certain stains are difficult to clean, but we also know that they can easily become permanent if you take too long or use the wrong solution on them. And while we have no doubt that Monica knows how to address a stain, we know she would have gone crazy if someone spilled a drink right after she cleaned the place. That is why don’t judge her (too harshly) for being overprotective after cleaning.
Monica from ‘Friends’ remains our most favourite character of the show. We would have loved to see her attitude and cleaning solutions on various other chores. We are sure the viewers would have loved that too!
