Everyone knows the agony of discovering a nasty stain on the carpet, but few really understand carpet
cleaning solutions that can be done at home. Whether the stain is caused by coffee, jam, or pet waste, there are tricks to help remove it.
Even tricky problems like ground in chewing gum or pine sap can be removed if a person knows what they are doing. Here are a few carpet cleaning tips for tackling some of the toughest stains.
It is very common for pet owners to have the need for
thorough carpet clean. Time is of the essence when treating Dog and cat accidents. The longer a stain is left sitting before treatment, the stronger the odour and harder to treat. The first step is to blot out as much as possible with a pad of absorbent paper
towelling, then create a mixture of equal parts warm water and white vinegar and pour it over the area. Cover with a folded towel, place some weight on it and leave it for a few hours. Later the stained area will need to have fresh water poured over it to rinse it and then it will need to be well blotted until nearly dry. If some odour remains, sprinkle baking soda liberally into the dried carpeting, let sit for two hours and vacuum thoroughly.
There are solutions to get your carpet clean from one of the toughest things to remove from carpets and rugs – chewing gum. Everyone knows the sick feeling of looking down to the floor mats in the car and discovering that they had tracked chewing gum off the parking lot into the car. Worse yet is finding it on the carpets in the home. There are some carpet cleaners available commercially that will help break down the gum and release its grip on the fibres. Another method of getting rid of gum it to fill a sandwich size bag with ice cubes and sit it on the spot. The longer you can leave it and the harder it freezes, the more successful removal will be.
If you find that your carpet is in dire need of a thorough clean then you should call a cleaning company that specialise in carpet cleaning.
