Brothers Abdul Hannan and Abdul Mannan were fined £12,000 and ordered to pay over £5,000 in costs for their breach of food hygiene regulations, reports the Manchester Evening News. However, there were some failures that not even the best cleaners could have solved. Fruit was being stored in the staff lavatory, while the kitchen was found to have poor ventilation and the whole building riddled with cockroaches. This follows a similar case in Balham, London, where the owner of the Yang Chen restaurant was fined for a mouse infestation in the restaurant's kitchen. Once again, the £1,500 fine imposed on the owner could have been better spent on the services of a London cleaning agency. ![]() |
