But aside from the environmentally-friendly benefits, clothes will also benefit. The news agency notes: "Not only will this save energy, it will save wear and tear on your clothes caused by over-drying." Energy regulator Energy Star does not ordinarily rate tumble dryers because they all tend to have the same output, however, this latest revelation suggests that savings can be made by savvy domestic cleaners. It is thought that more than half of Britons have a tumble dryer at home, which uses the equivalent energy of 500 energy-saving lightbulbs per cycle, reports the Independent. ![]() |
