Notts County Football Club has brought in a group of commercial cleaners to ensure its stadium is in "excellent condition" for the start of the season.

Hiring a local cleaning company, the Meadow Lane stadium should be in tip top shape for the start of the first preseason friendly against Stoke City on July 29th.

Craig Smith, the stadium manager, claimed that the cleaners were a welcome help.

He commented on the football club's website: "All seats are being cleaned, which is obviously a big challenge when you consider we have 20,000 seats in the ground.

"But, we want to ensure our supporters are coming into a clean environment and that is paramount."

Meanwhile, Mansfield Town football club has taken a different approach to cleaning its stadium.

Rather than relying on a cleaning company, the club has asked 100 of its fans to the stadium on Saturday, July 26th and Sunday, July 27th to give it a preseason spruce-up.
