Category: Domestic Cleaning Cleaners urged to develop 'good cleaning habits' - 15/07/2008
Latest news: Incorporating a few simple habits into everyday routines can help take the stress out of a person's domestic cleaning rota, one expert has claimed.Manchester in street cleaning abstinence Bank holiday boosts cleaning back pain risk Two in five Brits 'too busy' to clean Germs get 'under the skin' of vegetables According to Hannah Keeley, founder of US advice website TotalMom.com, a little more effort on a daily basis can help make "everyday life more pleasant". Research by manufacturer Scrubbing Bubbles found that two thirds of those polled want things kept clean in case unexpected guests drop by. A further 39 per cent are so conscious of peripheral mess in their home that they hide clutter in unseen places. "Along with the kitchen and main rooms, I always make sure the bathroom is looking and smelling fresh and clean in between regular cleanings," Ms Keeley remarked. However, she suggests that rather than stashing mess away in unusual places, domestic cleaners should take items that need to be in other places in between rooms as and when they appear. This can be anything from moving a laundry basket from one room to another, to picking up the mail when coming in from work. Taking the domestic cleaning initiative could go some way to meeting the demands of 69 per cent of those questioned in the Scrubbing Bubbles poll, who claimed that they want their homes to look clean in between regular cleans rather than just after they've finished. ![]() |
