University appoints London cleaning agency - 08/07/2008

Brunel University has signalled its intention to keep its new campus spick and span by recruiting an external London cleaning agency to ensure it stays dirt-free.

A three-year deal will see commercial cleaners from Cresswell taking responsibility for cleaning all exterior parts of the university.

The agreement comes after Brunel agreed a £250 million redevelopment of its five-site campus.

David McAuley, waste and support services manager at the university claimed that hiring an external cleaning company was the obvious choice for the campus' needs.

He said: "We were impressed by the knowledge Cresswell has in this type of specialist cleaning and its understanding of the needs of the University made it a natural and obvious choice."

Cresswell was selected from a shortlist of eight other contenders for the contract.

There is also the possibility of a one-year extension if the London cleaning company manages to keep the 201 acres in tip-top shape.
