Latest news: Council house tenants in Aberdeenshire in Scotland could be paid if they leave a property clean and give a minimum of 28 days notice, it has been revealed.Council encourages end of tenancy cleaning New cleaning product gains more Hospital introduces 'cleaning seals' Star turn for cleaners at Walsall hospital More than 500 tenants could benefit from the scheme if it is introduced, which will no doubt prompt many to make sure they get their end of tenancy cleaning done before moving on. Under the proposals, tenants would be offered £100 in cash if they left their property clean and tidy, which the council claims would reduce the transition period between old and new occupants. Principle policy officer for the area, Brian Cumming, noted in his report that the total cost of the scheme could reach more than £50,000. "However, it is estimated that savings of almost £153,000 will be made as less rent will be lost as houses are occupied more quickly and cleaning and minor repair costs would be less," he added in his report. Elsewhere, a retired street sweeper in Peterborough has been rewarded by the local community with a hamper for continuing to keep the streets clean for free. ![]() |
