Hotspots for a makeover will include parks, open spaces, back lanes, road islands and verges and nominations from local residents. Terry Collins, director of neighbourhood services, told the York Press: "We've already prepared a list of areas we feel would benefit from a spring clean, but we're also keen to hear from local residents about what they would like to see done." Councillor Andy D'Agorne, leader of the council's Green group, said problem areas tended to be places the council was not responsible for, such as private property. Meanwhile Diss town council has organised a Clean Up Diss campaign to promote the area to visitors. Works will include power-washing shop fronts and talking to traders about improving the look of the streets, the Diss Express reported. ![]() |
