Latest news: A recycling company has highlighted the need to keep homes clean by implementing responsible waste management.Manchester in street cleaning abstinence Bank holiday boosts cleaning back pain risk Two in five Brits 'too busy' to clean Germs get 'under the skin' of vegetables According to Waste King, every day Britons produce enough rubbish to fill Trafalgar Square to the height of Nelson's Column and in just over a week, produce enough waste to fill Wembley Stadium. More than half of the waste produced by UK consumers could be recycled, yet many people fail to set aside recyclable items when carrying out their house cleaning. Waste King pointed out that on an individual basis, each person in England and Wales produces nearly 500kg of household waste in a year as they go through the content of 90 drink cans, 70 food cans, 107 bottles and jars and 45kg of plastic. The amount of waste produced by each UK resident is equivalent to the weight of five cars, the firm said. Andy Cattigan of Waste King commented: "We produce far too much waste each year and recycle far too little of it. "It's never too late to start recycling your rubbish - especially if it's the sort of rubbish that the Council don't take away. Householders who do not have enough time to clean their homes and sort out waste in an environmentally responsible manner could employ the services of domestic cleaners, who are trained in a range of eco-friendly domestic cleaning techniques. Eco-friendly cleaning services are just some of the treatments offered by London commercial cleaners. ![]() |
