Commercial cleaning products manufacturer Daimler Industries has announced the launch of a new carpet cleaner aimed at commercial cleaners.

Ideal for office cleaning, the XPC-12000 is the latest in its XTreme Power line of carpet cleaners and is specifically designed for the regular maintenance of large areas of carpet.

"This industrial-strength carpet cleaner has a wide cleaning path and can cover a lot of ground, fast," explained Matthew Baratta, a spokesman for the company.

That makes it an ideal choice for commercial cleaners carrying out office cleaning on a regular basis and Mr Baratta added the product is well-designed to cope with the demands of cleaning "hotels, resorts, casinos, as well as government and office buildings".

The walk-behind machines have a large 15 gallon solution tank, as well as a 15 gallon recovery tank, the company stated.

Earlier this week, the Scotsman reported that Maeve McPhillips, a radiologist at the Sick Kids Hospital in Edinburgh, has urged the government to ensure all new hospitals are built with areas specifically set aside for the cleaning of hospital beds by commercial cleaners.
