A local man in Warwick has converted an old fire engine into a green cleaning tool for his neighbours' bins, it has been revealed.

The device recycles used water and has the added bonus of leaving no unwanted mess on the streets, reports the Leamington Observer.

Inventor and now director of the Cubbington Cleaning Company, Simon Standbridge, claimed that bins, unsurprisingly, can get quite dirty.

He told the newspaper: "People don't realise yet how dirty and smelly these bins can get.

"I expect it will all go a bit mad with the warmer weather."

It is so far unclear whether the new device could be used for window cleaning or other domestic cleaning duties.

However, having already amounted 750 customers, there is clearly a demand for green cleaning company services for bins.

Meanwhile, Manchester City Council bosses have halted street cleaning services for a day in a bid to encourage people to think about how much litter they throw away.
